Phase 2 consists of 3 two-storey duplexes and 2 apartments over a shop. The scheme successfully exploits the narrow site by following the medieval patterns of the city and continues the existing lane to wrap up onto the upper storey to provide access for 4 of the apartments. drummy's Court,
Cork
This scheme consists of 11 apartments in a tight urban site on Pope’s Quay in the centre of Cork. The houses to the quay side are retained and extended and combined with a new built development including a 6 storey tower to the rear. The private open space is provided in a courtyard and roof top terraces. The inner courtyard is designed with curving forms to allow deep penetration of light reflected from the white render, creating a Mediterranean hill top village atmosphere in the centre of Cork city.
Ryan's Pub and apartments,
Cork
This project consisted of the refurbishment of an inner city public house and the creation of two duplex apartments and one single-level apartment on 4 storeys. It was designed to accommodate the extended family of the owners of the public house who have always lived above the pub.
This was a tightly restricted inner city site in an archaeologically sensitive area and demonstrates how the city can successfully accommodate a “live-work” environment.
apartments, North abbey street,
Cork
11 North Abbey Street is a mixed use development on a tight inner city site at the bottom of Shandon Street opposite North Gate Bridge. It consists of a retail unit, offices and 5 apartments arranged above in two separate blocks rising to 5 storeys over ground.
The building combines a new build development with a redevelopment of an existing former furniture warehouse.
The former warehouse use has informed the office interior with its’ use of rough sawn timber floors, patinated mild steel stairs and large bay window to create a visual connection to the laneways and the city.
